how has this changed me...
Being a senior at Science Leadership Academy comes with the opportunity to be apart of a community mentally and physically. I believe that going to a school where projects are apart of the everyday life for a students helps us in the long run. Life after high school can be hard but with some creativity we can make the rest of our lives a little more colorful. We'll always remember our high school experiences and how, over the course of the last 4 years has changed the way we look at things. Capstones are supposed to take the Core Lessons: Inquiry, Research, Collaboration, Presentation and Reflection and everything we learned from 9th-12th and put it into this one big, year long project that will show what we learned and how we have impacted our school, community and our own lives. It's just one more way to remember the time we spent doing something for someone else.
This final project sprung from a project that I did in 9th grade. You and the World helped me finally do something for someone else, not just my Mom but also for the millions around the world. I've changed a lot since coming to SLA, truly is an honor being here. If it's one thing that I learned is that there is no room in this world for selfishness. With the help of my Principals, Counselors and teachers, I was able to bring my project to life, and although what I did may seem small to others... for me it goes a long way. Doing fundraisers and bake sales I raised over $250 dollars and I'm proud of this project and couldn't have asked for a better senior year.
